London Figures · 841 x 1189 mm · 2009
London Figures was developed through on-location sketching across the city, capturing people in public and communal spaces using discreet, observational drawing in an A5 notebook. Working improvisationally, the process produced over 2,000 pages of sketches that served as the foundation for larger, more intense works. In these final pieces, figures accumulate and dissolve into dense, pattern-like structures, forming disorienting visual fields that mirror the crowded urban spaces—where identities blur and perception becomes unstable. This visual intensification transforms the familiar into something unfamiliar, inviting time and close attention to fully perceive and interpret the emerging environments and possibilities.
