Berlin Figures · 429 x 594 mm · 2008

Berlin Figures was developed over the course of a month through on-location drawing across the city, capturing people in public and communal spaces with quiet, unobtrusive observation. Working in an A5 sketchbook, the artist drew discreetly from life, allowing everyday interactions and environments to unfold naturally. The drawings were made improvisationally—mark by mark—accumulating around 500 pages that form the foundation of the series. The final works retain this raw, layered energy, evoking the emotional dissonance of crowds, the fleeting gestures of strangers, and the tension between presence and isolation within urban life.
