Book 4 - Liam Yeates and John Hardwick
Over the past five years I have collaborated with eight writers to produce a unique volume of ten books. This collection focuses on the relationships between drawing and writing, exploring ideas of notation, observation, transcription and translation. Writing and drawing share a set of similar approaches and methodologies, the ideas of immediate encounter and experience, reduced to pen, ink and paper, where shapes and lines reconstruct experienced realities. Immediacy and mediation are significant factors in both practices where the act of collaboration consolidates a interdisciplinary approach to active response and recognition.
Hardwick (verb):
1. to write and make things (often films) with haste but little planning.
2. a chaotic form of behaviour, random in appearance and lacking in any discernable meaning. www.johnhardwickfilms.com
